In this three-part interactive Global Dialogue series on The Future of Education in an AI-enabled world, we bring together students, teachers, and leading thinkers to explore big questions about AI, humanity, and the future of education. The urgent question is how we prepare for AI. The deeper question is what kind of human beings we are developing, and what this means for the purpose of education and how we design for it. Our first dialogue, The Future of Human Capability, will explore: Which human capacities will matter most in an AI-enabled world, and which may matter less? What does this mean for how education, learning, and teaching must transform?

This opportunity will be held in English, with interpretation and/or translation to Spanish, Arabic, and French. We are delighted to announce the launch of the Global Institute Fellowship for Transforming Systems (GIFTS), in partnership with the Enlight Foundation. The fellowship will bring together a cohort of 20 outstanding and influential education systems leaders worldwide for a nine-month immersive and action-driven program of global learning. The fellowship is designed to connect, inspire and develop the next generation of education system leaders who are striving to turn visionary ideas about holistic education, youth leadership and equity into equitable, lasting transformation for children at scale.

We are actively recruiting our first cohort of fellows, with applications closing on Friday 4 September 2026 and invite applications from currently serving policymakers, government officials, politicians and advisors in influential roles in ministries, regional offices and delivery units, with influence over the learning and development of significant numbers of young people at a regional or national level. Fellows will be visionary, future-facing leaders who are committed to a holistic purpose of education for all children and excited about global learning and community.

The GIFTS fellowship is the flagship initiative of the Global Institute for Shaping a Better Future, which exists to inspire, inform and connect a global movement of teachers, school leaders, social innovators, researchers and policymakers through global learning, sharing and evidence-generation around the question of how we can grow all students holistically so they can shape a better future.

The fellowship aims to centre that question in a nine-month cohort-based learning experience for some of the world’s most dynamic and enterprising education system leaders, with the aim of:

1. Creating a challenging, supportive and fast-paced culture of learning among fellows around their most pressing questions and current challenges of practice.
2. Strengthening the ability of fellows to drive transformative systems change at a national or local level by providing access to world class learning experiences and world-renowned leaders.
3. Building a lifelong peer community of fellows, each of whom is working at the forefront of efforts to transform education in the national or regional context.
4. Generating new knowledge and insight to be shared with a wider global community of governments and multilaterals about the most effective drivers of system transformation.

Calling all teachers, alumni, partner network staff, and girls' advocates to join our learning series on November 11th to explore actionable strategies, practical tools, and resources to effectively address and prevent gender-based violence in educational spaces. Register by November 10th. This learning opportunity will be available in English, with the option for attendees to request interpretation in other languages when registering.

Career Exposure for STEM Pathways is an intensive, application-based six-week learning experience that builds the capacity of primary and secondary STEAM educators and coaches to connect classroom learning with STEM careers and the challenges those careers help address. Selected participants will deepen their understanding of how to make these connections meaningful for students by learning alongside STEAM educators from across the network, drawing on the Career Readiness Education Framework and LabXchange's STEM Explorer, and using the Meaningful STEM Career Exploration Educator Guide to develop and implement a career exploration activity with students. They will then bring what they learned back to the group, reflect with peers on what worked and what they would approach differently, and draw on others' experiences to strengthen their ability to design and facilitate meaningful STEM career exploration.

Throughout this learning experience, you will learn how to:

• Learn what makes STEM career exploration meaningful for students. Explore how classroom learning connects to STEM careers and real-world challenges, and identify career pathways linked to issues students care about. 
• Design and implement a career exploration activity with students. Gain practical insights and skills to turn challenges students care about into an activity that brings them into contact with real STEM work. 
• Strengthen your practice by reflecting with STEAM educators across the network. Reflect on what worked and what to approach differently, and draw on educators' experience in other contexts to evolve how you design and facilitate career exploration.
