The workshop will engage participants in reviewing and reflecting on foundational learning practices and programs through the lens of their personal experiences. It will focus on how the teaching of foundational numeracy is integrated with Teaching As Collective Leadership (TACL).
Is this for me?
Primary school teachers, head teachers, coaches, and anyone who is supporting early grade numeracy learning and teaching.
Workshop Objectives
- Understand the role of foundational numeracy as an essential building block for developing Teaching As Collective Leadership.
- Teachers will be able to implement the CRA – Concrete - Representation - Abstract way of teaching for all important concepts in mathematics up to Grade 3.
- Reflect on and improve their own numeracy teaching strategies by making the teaching and learning fun and engaging with CRA, TLMs (Teaching Learning Materials), and providing students with DIY (Do It Yourself) TLMs for learning math.
Format: 3 x 90 minute sessions on Zoom.
Dates: October 29, November 5, 12
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m UTC
This session will be held in English, with the option for attendees to request translation and/or interpretation in Arabic - العربية & Spanish - español.
