Navigating Inclusive Education For Foundational Learning
Deadline
Apr 14
April 14, 2026 to June 29, 2026
Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours every week for 12 weeks
Teach For All’s Inclusive Education Fellowship is a professional learning journey for teachers and teacher coaches who want to strengthen their inclusive practices. Fellows will explore a wide range of approaches to inclusive education, reflecting on who learners are, how they learn, and how classrooms can better support every student. Each participant will design and carry out an action research project focused on supporting learners with disabilities and learning differences, then share their insights with our global network. The Fellowship offers a collaborative space to learn, reflect, and lead toward more equitable and inclusive classrooms.
This focused fellowship will specifically explore foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), supporting educators to better understand how to create equitable learning opportunities for students who face barriers to building these essential skills.
Objectives
By the end of this fellowship, participants will:
- Develop a nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities in teaching foundational literacy and numeracy in inclusive settings.
- Apply evidence-based strategies to design and sustain learning environments where all students can achieve FLN competencies.
- Conduct a rigorous action research project addressing authentic FLN challenges in participants’ contexts and engage in reflective and collaborative dialogue with peers to exchange effective practices
- Share findings and innovative approaches with a broader regional and global network to advance inclusive education and contribute insights to the wider Teach For All global network.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants will be a teacher in the classroom. Beyond this selected based on:
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion in the teaching of literacy and numeracy: Evidence of actively supporting diverse learners, including migrant, multicultural, or displaced students.
- Leadership and collaboration: Ability to work with peers, contribute to group learning, and share insights across networks.
- Reflective practice: Willingness to explore new strategies to support literacy and numeracy, learn from successes and challenges, and apply them in their context.
- Locally Rooted: Currently a teacher working in a school
- Impact potential: Capacity and motivation to apply what they learn in their classrooms and share knowledge with colleagues, partner organizations, or the wider Teach For All community.
