Charity Mutete is a development practitioner, mining sector professional, and Human Resources specialist with a strong background in psychology, program coordination, and community development. She holds a BSc Honours in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and an MSc in Human Resource Management, complemented by a Lapidary Certificate from the Zimbabwe School of Mines, giving her both technical and people-centered expertise.


She currently serves as Human Resources and Administration Manager at Women in Mining Zimbabwe (WIM Zimbabwe), where she oversees recruitment, payroll administration, employee relations, training and development, and organizational culture, while also supporting women’s economic empowerment and inclusive participation in the mining sector. Through WIM Student Chapters, she actively works with students from different universities, mentoring young professionals and strengthening pathways for youth engagement in mining and development.
 

Charity brings extensive experience from roles with Teach For Zimbabwe (as a Fellow in the two-year Leadership Development Program, Recruitment, Selection and Matriculation Manager, Facilitator, and Let Girls Thrive Project Manager), PSI Zimbabwe, Plan International, Save the Children International, and Ryagri Zimbabwe. Her work has spanned recruitment and workforce development, project and program management, safeguarding, community engagement, report writing, and implementation of education, gender, climate change, and social protection initiatives. She led the Let Girls Thrive Project, championing girl-child education, retention, and empowerment, alongside coordinating workshops and managing field-based programs.


She is deeply passionate about advancing the rights and wellbeing of the girl child, with a strong commitment to education access, protection, and leadership development for young women and girls.
Charity is an alumna of the LEAD Programme at the University of Cape Town and a 2025 Cohort alumna of ACEP Ghana, strengthening her leadership capacity and expertise in extractives governance and sustainable development. She is driven by a vision of equitable development, responsible natural resource management, and creating meaningful opportunities for women and youth across Zimbabwe’s mining and development sectors.
