What is the Global Mental Health & Wellbeing Community?

The Mental Health & Wellbeing community is a volunteer-led space focused on strengthening wellbeing across the network through shared learning, mutual support, and practical resources. It brings together members interested in mental health to create safe, inclusive spaces for reflection, connection, and growth. Through monthly sessions and collaborative leadership, the community promotes emotional resilience and collective care. It is open to all members who wish to prioritize wellbeing for themselves and those they work with.

When was this community started?

The community was established in 2023 to respond to the growing need for safe spaces focused on mental health, connection, and collective wellbeing within the network.

How do community members learn from and support each other?

Members connect through monthly Zoom sessions led by volunteers or guest facilitators, WhatsApp groups for ongoing exchange, and shared resources. Sessions focus on self-care, reflection, and wellbeing practices, fostering collaborative learning and peer support.

What is the criteria for joining?

  • The community is inclusive and open to all network teachers, alumni, partner staff, and global staff with no formal requirements to join.
  • Anyone interested in mental health and wellbeing can participate.
  • Members are encouraged to engage actively, contribute to sessions if they wish, and respect the safe and supportive nature of the space.
  • Participation is open year-round, and all members are welcome to take on leadership roles, including facilitating sessions or sharing resources.

Together, we’re creating spaces to pause, reflect, and grow — where wellbeing becomes a shared practice and a collective responsibility.
