Inclusive Lab

What is the Global Inclusive Educators Lab?

The Global Inclusive Education Lab is a community within Teach For All for any alumni, teacher, educator, or teacher coach to champion and ensure more inclusive classrooms, systems, and communities. The main purpose of the community is sharing knowledge between community members, offering mutual assistance, increasing awareness about inclusive practices, and networking amongst community members.

Community engagement is through bi-monthly newsletters, virtual community calls, and online discussion hubs where they learn, discuss, reflect, and share best practices with each other.

When was this community started?

The community was formed in February 2024, due to requests and demand from past participants of our inclusive education fellowships who wanted to continue engaging and learning from each other.

How do community members learn from and support each other?

  • Bi-monthly Inclusive Educator newsletter: A member co-created newsletter where we share community learnings, resources and opportunities.
  • (Mostly) Bi-monthly community calls: We have various guests addressing key topics in inclusive education such as socio-emotional learning (SEL), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and other inclusive education methods, experiences, and best practices.
  • Online discussion space: A Facebook Group where members regularly connect on their own- sharing ideas, knowledge, opportunities.
  • The Inclusive Education Fellowship: A yearly fellowship where we experiment with different inclusive education approaches, showcase captivating case studies, and unveil research findings along with the best practices we've discovered.
  • In-person time: We organized a gathering in 2025, and another is slotted for 2027.

What is the criteria for joining?

Admissions are open year-round and the community is open to anyone from the network interested in fostering inclusive classrooms. A greater preference is placed upon those who have completed the Online Inclusive Education Course via the Abara LMS.

I really enjoy learning and connecting with others who are really interested in Inclusive Education. On our calls, I always have something new I can take away and use in my classroom.
