In September’s Education in Emergencies Community call on September 17th, 2024 at 1:00pm GMT, Teach For Bangladesh will share with the network all that they’ve been experiencing during this intensely difficult month. We have all seen in the media how the student protests were met with a violent response, and then led to a change in government. The violence tragically took the life of an 8th grade Teach For Bangladesh student, Motaleb, who was participating in the demonstrations, which is just such an unimaginable loss for his family, the fellow who was his teacher, and the whole TFB community.
In conversation with Teach For Bangladesh, we will also reflect on how our collective efforts to develop students to shape a better future can help tip the world in a positive direction. Given all that Teach For Bangladesh has witnessed, the conversation will also mark two key moments in the September calendar - 'International Day to Protect Education from Attack' (September 9th) and 'International Day of Peace' (September 21st).
