I am Thasneem Fathima, from the 2016 cohort of Teach For India. I did my Fellowship for 3 years in Chennai, India where I taught secondary students in a government and a private school. Prior to my Fellowship, I did my Masters in Electrical Engineering from NTU, Singapore. At the same time I found my love for teaching when I was tutoring school children. I came back to India and pursued my Fellowship. I had also been a Fellow Advisor and have interned for curriculum and content creation. During my Fellowship, I had worked on a lot of student leadership projects with my children. Few examples are the Design For Change project, Girls’ empowerment project and BBC Beyond fake news project. I also hold a Diploma in Elementary Education and was a part of the first cohort of Global Girls Education Fellowship. I was selected to attend the TFAll Global Teaching Summit at London and APAC gathering at Bangkok in 2018. Currently I work as a Program Manager at TFI, where I coach and mentor Fellows towards their leadership development, accelerated student outcomes and student leadership.
